Description
A rectangular wall mirror set in a gold-finished wood and gesso frame with molded leaf-and-scroll ornament along the outer edge. The mirror plate is beveled and the back is finished with kraft-paper dust cover and two-point hanging hardware. The frame is built of wood with applied composition (gesso) ornament, finished in a warm antiqued gold. The profile steps from a smooth inner cove up to a raised outer band of continuous acanthus-leaf and scroll molding — a design vocabulary drawn from neoclassical and Louis XVI revival frame traditions commonly produced as decorator mirrors from the late 20th century onward. The glass is a true beveled plate, visible as a clean polished edge around the perimeter of the mirror. 43"H x 30"L Good condition.
