Description
A matched pair of tall wrought iron floor-standing pedestals in a neoclassical torchère form, each with a flared open-cage urn basket atop a slender shaft and scrolled tripod base. Suitable for use as plant stands, candle/pillar holders, or decorative floor accents. Each stand is built from hand-formed iron rod and strap, with a campana (bell-shaped) urn at the top composed of vertical ribs bound by a twisted-rope collar at the waist and a riveted rim at the flared opening. The shaft is a slender round rod interrupted mid-height by a turned bun knop, with applied scrollwork collars beneath the urn and radiating C-scroll feet forming a tripod base. Construction is consistent with late 20th / early 21st century decorator-market production in the Spanish Revival / Tuscan / neoclassical torchère idiom, finished in an oil-rubbed bronze or dark patinated lacquer over iron rather than forged and fire-blackened historic ironwork. 47"H Good condition.
