Description
Matched pair of small decorative wall pieces featuring hand-lettered English phrases alongside Chinese character translations, mounted on torn-edge mulberry-style paper and set into silver-tone faux bamboo frames. Each piece pairs a calligraphic English sentiment with a vertical column of Chinese characters: the left frame reads "True friendship is a gift" (眞友誼) and the right reads "Live for today" (住用現今). The text is printed on a square of deckle-edge white fiber paper laid over a darker textured mulberry/bark paper ground, with a small red-outlined artist's chop mark in the lower corner. Frames are molded resin or composite in a silver finish, cast to imitate segmented bamboo stalks with pinned corner joints — a decorative style popular in late 20th / early 21st century Asian-inspired giftware. 10"H x 10"L Good condition.
