Description
Arthur Court cast aluminum serving bowl in the signature Grape & Vine pattern, with a pierced, high-relief border of grape clusters, leaves, and tendrils surrounding a central grape-cluster medallion. Signed and dated 1995 on the underside. Arthur Court Designs, founded in San Francisco in 1967, is known for hand-finished sand-cast aluminum serveware, and the Grape & Vine motif is among the studio's most enduring and widely collected patterns. This example is a small round bowl (often cataloged as a nut, candy, or wine-bottle caddy bowl) with an openwork rim of naturalistically modeled grape clusters, vine leaves, and tendrils, and a repoussé grape-cluster medallion in the well. The underside bears the incised Arthur Court signature with copyright symbol and the date 1995, confirming the year of production. Condition: The bowl presents brightly with its polished silver-tone finish intact across the rim, well, and underside. Light surface marks and faint handling wear are visible in the well under raking light, consistent with age and occasional use. No dents, cracks, or losses to the pierced grape-cluster rim are visible.
