Description
A vintage black amethyst glass bowl from the L.E. Smith Glass Company's "Mt. Pleasant" line. Part of the "Mt. Pleasant" collection, which originated in the late 1920s and early 1930s. It is characterized by its 3-footed (tripod) base and a scalloped, rolled rim. While it appears solid black, it is actually black amethyst glass, which is a very dark purple glass that only shows its color when held up to a strong light. This versatile dish is often described as a candy bowl, trinket dish, or mayonnaise bowl. 3"H x 6"W Good condition.
