Description
A limited edition aquatint etching titled "Triptico" (Triptych) by the Mexican artist Leticia Tarragó (born 1940). Created circa 1972, this rare piece is a color etching on paper that features three distinct panels—a triptych—depicting surreal, stylized figures and motifs typical of Tarragó's folk-art influenced style. It is pencil-signed by the artist in the lower right and titled and numbered, 49/250, as part of a limited edition, in the lower left. Leticia Tarragó is a well-known Mexican printmaker and painter. In 1967, she received a prestigious award for engraving from the National Institute of Fine Arts in Mexico. Her work often explores surreal and fantasy themes, frequently featuring figures like grandmothers, young girls, and stylized animals. 32"W x 23"L Good condition.
