Description
A vintage sewing machine table (or cabinet). These pieces were designed to house a sewing machine inside the cabinet, which could then be flipped up or accessed by opening the top. This table features a flip-top lid and a recessed area for the machine. Many vintage models, such as those from Singer, also came with a matching storage stool that tucks neatly underneath. While several manufacturers produced these, brands like Singer and Bradford are frequently found in this specific style. Many of these wooden cabinets date from the mid-20th century, with common examples from the 1930s through the 1970s. Features include prominent curved/domed lid profile, interior vertically slotted wooden rails for thread spools, tapered legs with an h-stretcher configuration, and scalloped lower edge apron. Interior contains vintage mid-century sewing notions including 'bonita brand' and 'swedish steel' needles. 25"H x 9.5"W x 16"L. Scratches and wear to wood.
