Description
A pair of hand-painted ceramic candlesticks by Jay Willfred, a division of the well-known home decor company Andrea by Sadek. Most Jay Willfred pieces are vintage and were hand-painted in Portugal, featuring a glossy majolica-style finish. These candlesticks are characterized by vibrant, multi-colored floral patterns in yellow, pink, and purple with blue accents. Hand-painted in Portugal, likely during the late 20th century. Jay Willfred was a brand under the Charles Sadek Import Company (headquartered in New Rochelle, NY), which was founded in 1936. While Sadek is famous for Japanese bisque porcelain, the Jay Willfred division often sourced high-quality, hand-painted earthenware and majolica-style pottery from Portugal. The Sadek company was acquired by Fitz & Floyd in 2015. 8.25"H Good condition.
