Description
A vintage ceramic planter or bud vase depicting a "Southern Belle". A woman in Victorian-style attire, including a wide-brimmed hat (sometimes called a "picture hat") and a voluminous, multi-tiered ruffled gown. It is made of glazed porcelain or pottery, featuring a solid light blue or "baby blue" finish. She is holding a large, woven-textured basket in front of her, which serves as the vessel for plants, flowers, or even incense. This planter is from Kikusui, a Japanese porcelain manufacturer. These pieces were popular mid-century exports known for their soft pastel glazes and delicate floral or ruffled dress details. 7.25"H x 4.75"W Good condition.
