Description
A hand-thrown studio pottery lidded vessel, often referred to as a covered soup bowl or small casserole dish. It is wheel-thrown stoneware. Features a dome-shaped lid with a unique lugged or looped handle and a shallow, bowl-like base. Many pieces in this style have a natural matte or unglazed textured exterior. These functional vessels are closely related to the traditional Japanese donabe (clay pot), frequently used for cooking soups and rice. 5"H x 6"W Good condition
