Description
A porcelain tea set by August Warnecke, with the "Ostfriesische Rose" (East Frisian Rose) pattern, a traditional motif that has been a symbol of East Frisian tea culture since the late 18th century. The design showcases stylized red to purple rose blossoms with green accents. The August Warnecke brand is known for hand-painted pieces on thin-walled porcelain with relief structures. Included are a teapot, a teapot warmer (Stövchen), used with a candle to keep the tea warm, sugar bowl and milk jug, and teacups and saucers featuring the central rose motif. Stamped at base "AW". The porcelain was often produced in factories in England or Germany for August Warnecke. Good condition.
