Description
A vintage pastel mink coat from the "Fur Salon" at The May Company. The coat dates from the 1950s to the 1970s, a period when May Co was at its peak and high-end furs were a staple of luxury fashion. "Fur Salon" at The May Company (often referred to as May Co) was a signature high-end department in one of the most prominent retail chains in American history. Founded in Denver in 1888, it expanded into major cities like Los Angeles and Cleveland, where it operated massive flagship stores that were among the largest in the country. In the mid-20th century, department stores like May Co featured dedicated fur salons where garments were often custom-made or tailored by personal furriers for an upscale clientele. 29"L Good condition.
