Description
A vintage-style Asian folding fan, which is a decorative piece often used as wall art or a handheld accessory. These fans typically feature hand-painted floral and nature motifs on materials such as paper, silk, or heavy canvas, supported by a framework of bamboo or wood. This specific fan has a dark background adorned with colorful floral paintings, which appear to include roses and possibly irises or peonies. Small bird or butterfly figures are integrated into such designs. It is an accordion-style folding fan with multiple sections or "ribs" made of wood that meet at a central pivot point. While it shares characteristics with both Chinese and Japanese decorative fans, its design is consistent with Mid-20th Century oriental wall decor. 31"L Good condition.
