Description
A vintage micro mosaic bracelet; a classic Italian art form that involves setting tiny bits of colorful stones or glass (tesserae) into intricate floral patterns. This particular piece features oval and round links with multi-colored floral designs set in a gold-tone metal, typically brass. Italian micro mosaic, often referred to as "millefiori" (meaning "thousand flowers") due to the dense floral imagery. Tiny hand-set glass or stone tiles mounted in gold-tone brass settings. This bracelet uses a simple hook and eye clasp. Many of these pieces were produced in Italy, specifically Florence or Venice, and were popular as travel souvenirs throughout the 20th century. 7"L Good condition.
