Description
An Art Deco-style bronze work after the designs of Demetre Haralamb Chiparus. Known as a master of the Art Deco era, Chiparus (1886–1947) was a Romanian sculptor active in Paris, celebrated for his elegant, elongated figures often inspired by the Russian Ballet and ancient Egyptian art. This specific piece likely depicts the "Graceful Dancer" or similar figures in a dynamic pose, often referred to as "Starfish Dancer" or "Kamona" depending on the specific variation and catalog. Typically crafted from bronze using the "lost wax" casting process. Iconic Art Deco aesthetics characterized by lean bodies, theatrical poses, and intricate detailing on costumes. While original period pieces are highly valuable, many versions found today are high-quality vintage reproductions that continue to carry the artist's signature. Please note: piece missing from front of figurine that is laying down-please see photo.
