Description
A wood-fired stoneware slab tray. This piece is characterized by its organic, irregular shape and heavily textured surface, which features prominent vertical ribbing or grooves. Wood-fired stoneware, a type of ceramic that gains its unique coloration and "distressed" look from the ash and high temperatures of a wood kiln. The piece exhibits a Brutalist or highly organic aesthetic, focusing on raw textures and natural forms. The tray has a wide, shallow profile with raised, undulating edges. The surface is covered in deep, parallel linear impressions that give it a "raked" or fossil-like appearance, reminiscent of natural objects like Calamites fossils or tree bark. 3"H x 12"W x 14"L Good condition.
