Description
A pair of vintage oak bar stools featuring woven rush seats, made in Japan. Sets with this distinct Japanese construction—featuring oak frames and woven rush seats—were prominently manufactured in Japan during the 1960s and 1970s for export. Has a "Made in Japan" label on the underside of the seat frame. A blend of Modernist and Japanese Craftsman aesthetics, characterized by a clean, architectural silhouette and the use of traditional natural materials. Made of solid oak with hand-woven rush (natural fiber) seats. The legs are joined with sturdy mortise and tenon joints. 28.5"H x 14.5"W Good condition.
