Description
A "Thinker" statue, which is a modern reproduction inspired by ancient Cycladic art. These minimalist sculptures represent the Cycladic civilization that flourished in the Aegean islands between 3300 and 1100 BCE. Highly stylized and minimalist, crafted from materials like cast alabaster, marble, or porestone to mimic ancient Greek marble. While the exact purpose of original Cycladic figures is unknown, they were historically found in tombs and sanctuaries, often representing ancestors or deities. Made in Greece. Height is 61/2” Good condition.
