Description
This vintage 1973 M.J. Hummel annual collector plate, titled “Globe Trotter” (also known as “Happy Wanderer”), is the third issue in the celebrated Goebel Hummel annual plate series that began in 1971. Crafted in West Germany by W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik and based on the artwork of Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel, the plate features a hand-painted bas-relief scene of a cheerful young boy whistling as he walks along, dressed in a green jacket, brown trousers, and hat while carrying an orange umbrella and a flower-filled basket on his back. Marked HUM 266 and stamped on the reverse, the plate measures approximately 7½ inches in diameter and remains in good overall condition with light, age-appropriate wear.
