Description
Rare vintage 1971 M.J. Hummel Annual Collector Plate, titled “Heavenly Angel,” produced by Goebel in West Germany as the first edition of the Hummel annual plate series and issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik. The porcelain plate features a raised bas-relief image of a cherubic angel in a green robe holding a candle, accented by a star and stylized evergreen trees on a cream ground, with the year “1971” printed in red at the bottom. Marked on the underside with design number HUM 264 and accompanied by the original presentation box bearing the M.J. Hummel signature and German inscription “der Teller des Jahres 1971.” Measures approximately 7.5 inches in diameter. Good vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear and no major damage observed.
