Description
A vintage Cory glass filter rod in its original packaging, designed for use with vacuum coffee makers. The filter rod is made entirely of glass and is designed to filter coffee or tea "untouched by metal". It was patented by Harvey Cory in 1939 (Patent Des. 114097). It provides "faster" and "more efficient filtering" without requiring cloth, a hook, a spring, or metal parts. The design was made to fit "most all glass coffee brewers". The box includes instructions for brewing both coffee and tea, specifying different "gurgle" times depending on the grind of the coffee or the type of tea used. These items date from the 1920s to the 1940s and are considered a collectible item for those interested in antique kitchen appliances. 6" L Good condition.
