Description
Handmade ceramic studio pottery plate by noted Asheville, North Carolina artist Eileen Black, signed on the underside and originally sold through Blue Oak Gallery. This art piece features a glossy, multicolored reactive glaze in earthy tones of golden brown, rust, blue, and subtle purple speckling, creating an organic, mottled surface with natural variation typical of artisan-fired ceramics. The round form includes a gently raised rim and visible glaze break along the edge that highlights the clay body. Eileen Black, an influential studio potter with more than four decades of experience and a founding figure in Asheville’s River Arts District and the Carolina Clay Guild, is known for producing durable yet expressive functional wares. Plate measures approximately 8.5 inches in diameter and remains in good condition.
