Description
This hand-signed color etching depicts a detailed Viennese street scene, widely identified as the historic Griechenbeisl area in Vienna. The composition features closely set buildings, cobblestone streets, and architectural details rendered with precision and atmospheric depth. Executed using a combination of etching and aquatint on wove paper, the work demonstrates Kasimir’s characteristic focus on urban cityscapes and meticulous draftsmanship. The print is signed in pencil by Robert Kasimir along the lower margin. Kasimir, an Austrian graphic artist and son of Luigi Kasimir and Tanna Kasimir-Hoernes, is regarded as an important 20th-century creator of European city views. Presented in a decorative frame. Overall condition is good, with minor chipping visible along the top edge of the frame. Approximate framed dimensions: 22" L x 18" W.
