Description
Crafted from solid camphor wood, used for its natural aromatic properties that repel insects, making it ideal for storing linens, clothing, or textiles. The chest is richly carved in deep relief with traditional Chinese scenes featuring figures, landscapes, pagodas, and foliage, framed by decorative borders. It features a decorative brass lock plate and latch at the front, carved side handles, and rests on short carved bracket feet. The exterior shows a warm, aged patina, while the interior retains its cedar lining and natural camphor scent. Early to mid 20th century. This item measures 38.5" L x 19" W x 20" H and is in good condition.
