Description
A vintage Taylor & Ng chicken roaster, sometimes called a covered cooker, baker, or tureen. These pieces were designed by artist Win Ng in the late 1960s for the San Francisco store Taylor & Ng. The ceramic dish and lid are designed to cook a whole chicken, with the lid trapping steam to keep the meat moist. The charming figural design allows it to serve as both a cooking vessel and a centerpiece. The specific piece in the image appears to be the white/cream glaze version, which was part of the original "Environmental Ceramics" line. 11.5" L x 8" W x 8" H Good condition.
