A Chinese Yixing stoneware vase. It has a four-sided shape with a recessed neck and everted mouth. The vase features carved and painted calligraphy. It is likely from the 20th century. The material is Yixing zisha pottery. Translation of writing: "Day falls Light candle to pass on to others" (This is a poetic couplet, roughly meaning that as the day ends, one lights a candle to pass on knowledge or warmth to others, or simply to continue on with light.) 10.25" H x 4.5" W (widest point) x 3.5" W (base) Good condition.
