Description
A faux bamboo cheval mirror in the English Regency style. The piece exhibits the Regency style, which was popular in the early 19th century and often incorporated Chinese themes, most notably seen in imitation bamboo and painted lacquer finishes. The frame is made of wood, often mahogany or elm, that has been turned and carved to imitate the look of natural bamboo. This type of freestanding, tilting mirror is known as a cheval mirror or cheval glass, designed to allow a full-length view. 57" H x 25 1/2" W Good condition.
