Description
A pair of Lausitzer Bleikristall (lead crystal) cut-to-clear hock wine glasses in a ruby or cranberry red color, featuring a popular grapevine pattern. The glasses are made of 24% lead crystal, which gives them clarity, brilliance, and a pleasant ringing tone when tapped. They feature a "cut-to-clear" design, where a layer of colored glass (ruby red) is applied over clear crystal and then hand-cut to create a detailed grapevine motif of grapes and leaves, exposing the clear crystal beneath. These are hock wine glasses (or Römer glasses), which are traditionally used for German wines. They have a tall, notched, clear stem with a multi-sided cut design. 8" H x 3.5" Dia (widest point); Opening: 2.5" Dia Please note: small chip missing at base of one glass.
