Description
A vintage Indian lacquerware spice box. It is a hand-painted, turned wood container with a lid, often referred to as a masala dabba. The box features a domed lid and is decorated with a distressed red and gold crackle finish and yellow trim. These boxes were traditionally used for storing spices, tea, or other refreshments. The distinctive style is a form of folk art, likely originating from regions like Punjab or Swat Valley. D: 2 1/2" H: 1.5" Good condition.
