Description
A terracotta wine cooler, also commonly referred to as a "wine brique". This specific model features a decorative rope-like rim and a circular stamp that says "wine brique" on the front. This type of cooler uses the natural evaporative properties of unglazed terracotta clay to keep a wine bottle chilled. To use it, you soak the cooler in water for about 10-15 minutes, which allows the clay to absorb moisture. As the water evaporates from the exterior surface, it cools the contents inside. The cooler is cylindrical with an unglazed, natural orange-brown finish. The top edge features a distinctive braided or rope design. 10.5" H x 5" Dia Good condition.
