Description
A vintage, mass-produced oil painting sold for home decor through a direct sales model. The piece is framed and depicts an autumnal landscape with a body of water. It was made by Artistic Interiors, Inc. that was a company that operated on a direct sales model, similar to Avon or Tupperware, primarily in the mid to late 20th century. They sold affordable, mass-produced decorative wall art, often referred to as "factory art," for home decor. Sales representatives would host home parties to sell paintings, which were marketed as original art for an affordable price. The art was typically produced in "art factory settings" in places like China and Mexico by anonymous studio painters. The names signed on the paintings, such as "Paul Carman" or "J. Medina" were often fictional or pseudonyms and do not relate to a real, collectable artist. 20 1/2" x 16" Good condition.
