Description
A carved stone bear figurine, most likely made from a stone such as snowflake obsidian, indigo gabbro (also known as mystic merlinite), or a type of black soapstone. The contrasting white/gray spots are natural inclusions in the stone. The simple, rounded form is characteristic of Zuni fetishes, which are small animal carvings made by the Zuni people in the American Southwest. Bears are a common subject in many cultures, often symbolizing strength, protection, and endurance. W: 1.5" Good condition.
