Description
AJapanese hanging scroll (kakejiku) featuring a painting of silver grass, peonies, chrysanthemums, and a kingfisher. It is signed Hozan (峰山). Hanging scrolls are a traditional form of East Asian art, typically featuring a painting or calligraphy mounted on fabric or paper. They are designed to be displayed vertically on a wall or in a tokonoma (an elevated alcove in a traditional Japanese room). The subject matter, often seasonal flowers and birds, can be rotated to reflect the changing seasons or specific occasions. The artwork can be rolled up and stored in a custom-made wooden box when not in use, protecting it from light and air. v Good condition.
