Description
A Bostrom's improved farm level, which is a vintage surveying instrument manufactured by the Bostrom-Brady Manufacturing Company of Atlanta, Georgia. These levels were specifically designed to be affordable and easy-to-use tools for farmers and contractors for tasks such as terracing, drainage, and irrigation. The instrument typically functions as both a level and a telescope and often includes a pendulum level inside the case. The original kit would also have included a tripod and a target. The company operated from the early 1900s through the 1950s, with patents issued in the early 1900s and advertisements appearing into the late 1950s. The Smithsonian has one in its collection. 9.5" W x 4" L Good condition.
