Description
A vintage Curtis Jere brass deer sculpture, identifiable by its brutalist, mid-century modern style and hammered metal design. The sculpture typically rests on a dark marble base, which is missing. Curtis Jere is the famous collaborative name for American artists Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels, brothers-in-law who created iconic, decorative metal sculptures and wall art, selling them through their company, Artisan House, starting in 1963, aiming to provide "gallery-quality art for the masses". Their distinctive works, often featuring brass sunbursts, trees, and abstract forms, were popular mid-century modern decor, produced using techniques like enameling, casting, and resin pouring. 31" L x 18" W Please note: missing marble base.
