Description
This is a raw amethyst gemstone, 35.25 carats, a violet to purple variety of quartz. Amethyst is February's birthstone and has long been associated with royalty and spirituality. Its color ranges from light lavender to a deep royal purple, with hues potentially having blue or red hints. The purple color is caused by trace amounts of iron within the crystal structure, exposed to natural radiation and heat during formation. On the Mohs scale of hardness, amethyst is a 7, making it durable enough for everyday jewelry use. Good condition.
