Description
Framed print of Beach Head ’63 (also known as Beachhead ) by renowned American artist Margaret Keane, one of the most iconic images from her celebrated “Big Eyes” period of the early 1960s. The composition depicts a solemn child with oversized, expressive eyes alongside a white poodle, both peering over a weathered wooden fence with the beach and sky softly rendered in the background. A wire fence element at the edge of the scene adds to the sense of quiet separation and emotional vulnerability that defines Keane’s work. Margaret Keane rose to international fame for her distinctive style portraying wide-eyed, emotionally charged figures. For many years, her former husband Walter Keane falsely claimed authorship of her paintings, a story later brought to light through a landmark 1986 court case in which Margaret proved her authorship during a court-ordered paint-off. This history became widely known through the 2014 film Big Eyes . Dimensions: H: 17" | L: 29". Condition: Good.
