Description

A natural marine shell identified as a Crown Conch, likely Melongena corona or a related Melongena species. The shell has a thick, pear-shaped form with a pronounced body whorl and a textured exterior showing irregular banding and mottled coloration in tones of brown, gray, cream, and white. A defining feature is the row of prominent, crown-like spines or nodules along the shoulder of each whorl. The interior aperture typically shows darker coloration consistent with this species. Crown conchs are marine gastropods commonly found in shallow intertidal environments, including mudflats, estuaries, and mangrove areas. The shell measures approximately 4.5 inches in height, 6 inches in width, and 11 inches in length. It is in good condition.
