Description
A multi-panel folding screen executed in a traditional East Asian decorative style. The front panels display hand-painted imagery associated with Chinoiserie and Japanese byōbu traditions, rendered on a light-toned ground. The primary composition features cranes arranged across the panels, with additional animal imagery positioned near the lower sections. Cranes are a recurring motif in East Asian art and are traditionally associated with longevity and harmony. The reverse side is decorated with a separate painted scene depicting natural elements, including bamboo stalks, foliage, lotus plants, and a small bird perched among the branches. The screen is designed to function as both a decorative interior element and a room divider. Overall measurements are approximately 84 inches in height, 64 inches in total length, and 0.75 inches in depth. The folding screen is in good condition.
