Description
A hand-carved tiki statue representing a traditional Polynesian human-like figure associated with spiritual and cultural symbolism. The figure is carved from light-colored wood with a natural, unstained finish that highlights the visible wood grain. The head is proportionally large in relation to the body, featuring almond-shaped eyes, a broad nose, and a carved mouth. An elaborate headdress or top section is detailed with vertical carved slits. The body is stocky in form with bent legs and hands positioned at the abdomen, a posture commonly seen in traditional tiki carvings. The surface shows clear evidence of hand-tool carving, with defined facial features and textured detailing throughout. Tiki figures are historically associated with representations of deified ancestors, gods, or protective guardians within Polynesian culture. The statue measures approximately 48.5 inches in height and 10 inches in width and length. It is in good condition.
