Description
A console table designed with strong influence from Chinese Ming-style furniture and European Chinoiserie interpretations. The structure is formed with straight legs connected by lower stretchers, reflecting traditional Chinese furniture proportions and stability. Construction appears consistent with mortise-and-tenon joinery methods commonly used in Chinese woodworking. The apron features intricate open lattice fretwork, a decorative element associated with Chinese architectural and furniture traditions, allowing visual openness while maintaining structural integrity. The design emphasizes clean lines and balanced proportions, highlighting the natural character of the wood. A clear glass top has been added, allowing the carved fretwork and base to remain visible. The table measures approximately 28 inches in height, 14 inches in width, and 52 inches in length. It is in good condition.
