Description
A large salad bowl designed by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk Design Denmark, produced circa the 1960s. The bowl is constructed of solid staved teak and formed with an organic profile and a beveled rim. The design reflects Scandinavian modern principles associated with Quistgaard’s work for Dansk, where he served as chief designer beginning in 1954. Jens Harald Quistgaard (1919–2008) was a Danish sculptor and industrial designer whose tableware and household designs became widely distributed internationally during the mid-20th century. The bowl measures approximately 6 inches in height and 15 inches in width and length. It is in good condition.
