Description
A pair of vintage Damascene cufflinks, an ancient craft originating from Spain (specifically Toledo) involving the inlay of gold or silver threads onto a blackened steel surface to create intricate designs. The cufflinks have an oval shape with a geometric, Arabesque pattern. The base is often steel or another metal, which is then overlaid with gold or silver and blackened to create contrast. They commonly have a gold-tone finish. Good condition.
