Description
An Egyptian Revival sterling silver winged scarab brooch featuring a carved agate scarab and plique-à-jour enamel wings, with two small pearl accents. The design, popular in the early 20th century following the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, incorporates the scarab beetle, a powerful ancient Egyptian symbol of renewal and transformation. The colorful wings are created using the plique-à-jour enameling technique, which gives them a translucent, stained-glass appearance. Good condition.
