Description
A vintage Navaho sterling silver brooch, made by Alfred Martinez, a Navajo silversmith known for creating Native American sterling silver jewelry, including bear-shaped pieces. It is a sterling silver bear-shaped brooch, featuring traditional stamped designs. Three stamped, star-like motifs adorn the bear's back. A textured, serrated pattern runs along the curved underside or belly. The head features a simple incised line for the mouth/jaw and a small dot for the eye. Bear images symbolize strength, power, and healing. W: 2" Good condition.
