Description
This is an early 20th-century Prussian Infantry Officer’s sword featuring a single-edged, nickel-plated steel blade with a double fuller and the maker’s mark WK&C (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie) at the base. The gilt, non-ferrous metal hilt is elaborately crafted in openwork form and displays the Prussian eagle with the WR II monogram for Kaiser Wilhelm II. The grip is wrapped in sharkskin with intact silver wire wrapping, and it bears an applied WR II monogram matching the hilt. A finger loop remains present beneath the guard. The sword comes with its original blued steel scabbard, fitted with a ring band and a single movable suspension ring. Overall, it represents classic Imperial German officer’s sidearm design and craftsmanship from the Kaiserzeit period. H: 42" | W: 2" , good condition.
