Description
Vintage Alt Meissen style porcelain relief plaque made in Dresden, Germany, mid-20th century. The scene depicts a Rococo pastoral vignette inspired by Sanssouci Palace park entertainment from around 1750–1760, featuring a seated lady beside a gentleman playing a flute beneath a stylized tree. The figures are crafted in white bisque porcelain in high relief against a pale blue background. The plaque is mounted in an ornate, gold-tone carved wooden frame with a distressed Rococo finish. This is a reproduction piece produced under the Alt Meissen Art name, not an original 18th-century Meissen manufacture. The back retains the original descriptive card explaining the Sanssouci theme and its cultural context. H: 14" | W: 11" , good condition.
