Description
This is an original 1953 Schatz Jahresuhrenfabrik 400-day torsion pendulum clock, Model 53, manufactured in Germany. The clock features a maroon enamel base with gold-tone trim, twisted brass support pillars, and an ornate dial beneath its clear glass dome. The dial is decorated with an intricate gilt scenic motif depicting classical figures, with all numerals and detailing in gold. It houses a mechanical key-wound movement designed to operate for approximately 400 days on a single winding. The torsion pendulum with maroon spheres is present, though currently disconnected. The underside is stamped “Jahresuhrenfabrik Germany,” confirming authenticity. Clock measures approximately H: 9.5" | W: 6" | L: 6". Overall good condition with cosmetic wear consistent with age; pendulum requires reconnection.
