Description
This hand-carved Inuit stone sculpture features a semi-abstract seated figure rendered from a single piece of stone. The front surface is polished to reveal complex natural coloration and veining, while the sides and back retain their raw, unworked texture. The figure displays a large, mask-like face with deeply carved eyes, flared nostrils, and a defined mouth. The facial area and upper torso incorporate a detailed cross-hatched pattern that contrasts with the smooth carved surfaces and the rough natural stone. The lower portion forms broad, block-like feet that create a stable base. This sculpture reflects traditional Inuit carving techniques that merge human form with stylized, symbolic features. H: 12" | W: 7", good condition.
