Description
A small, round ceramic vase, often referred to as a "weed pot" due to its narrow opening for holding a single flower or weed stalk. The specific style is characteristic of Shigaraki ware from Japan, known for its distinctive ash glaze and texture. It is characterized by its spherical form, rough texture, and distinctive mixed glaze. The glazes used appear to be a combination of a light-colored (beige or white) textured glaze and a contrasting brown/green glaze that runs down one side and pools in the irregular opening at the top. It exhibits an organic, wabi-sabi aesthetic, which embraces imperfection and natural processes. Good condition.
